My father Abbe Klein and his family were sheet metal workers in Zdunska Wola, they specialised in roof repairs for government storage buildings. They were quite wealthy and owned a large property with tenants. On the same property there was a well and the family workshop.
My mother was born to a poor family in Zdunska Wola, her father was a shoemaker and there were many children.
My parents met through a zionist youth movement in Zdunska Wola. my father went on Hachshara, a special preparation camp for youth who wanted to migrate to Palestine, in Lodz. He left for Palestine in 1932. My mother went on the same Hachshara and migrated to Palestine in 1934.
